Amb. Marcel Tibaleka, presents his letters of credence to H. E. Andrzej Sebastian Duda
Ambassador Marcel Robert Tibaleka, Uganda's non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Poland presented his letters of credence to His Excellency Andrzej Sebastian Duda, President of the Republic of Poland on the 10th January 2017.
Ambassador Tibaleka is Uganda's ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany resident in Berlin. He also represents Uganda in Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, The Vatican, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania. He is also Uganda's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Agencies in Bonn and Vienna.
The official ceremony with military honours took place at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, Poland. After the ceremony Ambassador Tibaleka had a wide-ranging conversation with H.E. President Duda.
Ambassador Tibaleka conveyed greetings and a special message from H.E. President Museveni to H.E. President Duda and thanked him for his audience and for the opportunity to serve as Uganda's Ambassador to Poland. He reiterated Uganda's strong desire to further strengthen its relations with Poland in all areas. As to the bilateral relations between Uganda and Poland, Ambassador Tibaleka briefed that the volume of trade between the two countries, though small, is increasing year by year. He said that a number of Polish enterprises had started to explore the Ugandan market. One Polish firm, URSUS, is in the process of setting up a tractor assembly plant in Uganda to provide affordable tractors and farm machinery needed for mechanisation of agriculture in Uganda.
President Duda warmly welcomed Amb. Tibaleka and pointed out that cooperation between the two countries was developing constructively and in mutually beneficial ways. He said that he looked forward to having wide-ranging economic relations between the two countries.
