Prof. Maria Bohmer, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, has presided over the pass out ceremony for six participants who completed a football coaching course for young trainers from the East Africa Community member countries. The "Train the Trainer" programme that took place from 18th August to 10th September 2017, was co-sponsored by the Deutsche Fussball Liga GmbH (DFL) - German Football League and the Federal Foreign Office. The DFL is responsible for entire operating business of the Ligaverband, including the Bundesliga and the second division Bundesliga leagues.

Prof. Bohmer, whose remit includes cultural relations among other duties, called upon the six participants to share their newly acquired coaching skills when they return to their countries. She hoped that this would have a multiplier-effect when these coaches train other trainers and in so doing improve the football skills in the region.

Ms Berna Namwanje, Programme Manager, The Kids League Uganda, was the participant from Uganda.
